The German Studies Student Council (GSSC) was founded in Spring 2017 by John Simmons and Julia Janka. Since then, it has established itself as an intermediary between students and faculty. The Council works to support the community of German students here at UVa in any way they can, with projects ranging from designing T-shirts and ordering graduation cords to working with the German federal government to plan a "Campus Week.
