Workshop for Teachers in German

This workshop seeks to develop an ongoing interactive partnership between the University of Virginia and the Secondary School German Teachers in Virginia and use this partnership to address core teaching issues and concerns. Friederike Braun from the German Central Agency for Schools Abroad will give a short presentation and join the workshop for the day. Registration required.     • Gabriele Riedle, Max Kade Distinguished Visiting Professor in the German Department, is an award-winning German writer and reporter with extensive experience covering global conflicts. Riedle will discuss the implications of representing violent conflict in text, photography, and film, as well as the realities of daily life as a war reporter.
